Another beautiful day on the range. Wednesday, May 29th. Lots of ladies shooting, including Cathi Ulrich, CRSO Nancy Adelis, RSO Elena Krish and Cindy Lewis (not shown).
The May Pistol Annies get together was held at San Felipe Mexican Restaurant. Nancy Adelis hosted this event in which the ladies sipped on Modelo, margaritas and sangria. We also celebrated the birthday of our very own Cindy Lewis. Arriba, arriba!
The June Pistol Annie event was hosted by Jo Ann Klug and Judy Bradford at Waterway Park. What a great idea, what a great night! We all had a blast eating the best from Mr. Wallace's catering, playing games, hoola hooping, and dancing. A highlight of the evening was the rock game, where we all got to know each other better which helped to solidify our friendships!
Pistol Annies rode again at the home of Mary Feckler for April. This was a difficult but much needed social event, after losing our dear Annie, Susan Cole
Pistol Annies gathered together this month to celebrate Mardi Gras
We dressed in purple, green and gold. Lynne D., our hostess, provided beads and tiaras and feathered eye masks for the occasion. We enjoyed homemade jambalaya, steamed rice and lots of yummy appetizers and treats from the Annies clan. Lynne also made a homemade King Cake that was so delicious! Another fabulous gathering is in the books.
Pistol Annies and RSOs on the range for June Pistol Annies. It was warm out, but we got through three relays pretty quickly. Many shooters are participating in the Annie Oakley shootout; awards presented at the end of the year
PISTOL ANNIES PHOTOS 2024
The Pistol Annies had a good showing for the May Shoot Day. We started the scoring for the Annie Oakley Shootout, in which the ladies compete at 5, 10 or 15 yards. The winners will receive cash prizes at the end of the year. Thanks to Curt Seaton for counting the hits for the Shootout
Before the shoot at YOGC, Pistol Annies members gathered to remember Susan Cole, who recently passed away. Her creative idea was the impetus to starting the women's shooting league. The ladies shot from different distances based on their experience and comfort level and Susan would have been happy to see how well the shoot went.
The Pistol Annies gathered again in March for some artistic fun. The lady shooters had a great time painting a beachy picture to take home. Thanks to Louise Cole for organizing this creative event.
Thanks to Nancy Adelis for arranging the Southport Ghost Tour for the month of May. It was a lovely night for a walk and we learned a lot about the history of our beautiful town. Some of the ladies stayed late for ice cream. The others went home and straight to bed.
The Pistol Annies First 2024 Gathering
On a mild February morning, the first 10 ladies to arrive received gloves to help with the cold weather. With many new shooters on board, Nancy took extra time to explain all aspects of range safety and handling guns safely. This was also a great review for the experienced shooters. Range Safety Officers provided one on one assistance to the ladies as needed. Everything went smoothly and overall it was a successful event. Pistol Annies ride again! Pew, pew!!
