                                                                           YET ANOTHER CELEBRATION!
Another luncheon to celebrate the birthdays of four of our Range Officers - Rob, Will, Curt, and Neal!  We also bid farewell to Bob Cotter, another RO and one of the nicest guys in our club who is departing for the Durham area in North Carolina.

Mr. Trap V.2 Arrives -  Gets New Accommodations

Bill Boston, like an expectant father, has been waiting patiently for arrival of the new trap machine. Purchased by the club members and support from David Knox of Roan's Branch, Mr. Trap V.2 arrived in late September. Rob Jerome, Club Master Engineer and Team Lead for the Brunswick County Construction Fairies (there's a story here) set about designing the hydraulic Trap House. With a team of volunteers the guys AND Deb Lipsen hit Lowe's Hardware for supplies. In 3 consecutive days they produced a beautiful structure. Enjoy these photos.

STJRPA RUNS ITS FIRST GUN CLEANING WORKSHOP
Seven students participated in a 'hands on' workshop with our senior Range Officers, where they learned to clean their own firearm.  Rita and Curt Seaton hosted in their air conditioned garage.  They all arrived at class with their firearm, cleaning kit, owners' manual and more.  Two sessions were held, for those who wished to clean 2 firearms.  With 7 Range Officers, each student had one-on-one coaching.  Of course we all went to lunch afterwards.

SJRPA had its Christmas/Holiday Celebration and Annual Awards Ceremony at the Founder’s Club. Everyone looked fabulous and we had a wonderful time.

Getting Acquainted with Our New Home
As always when moving to a new place, one spends time making it feel like your own.  Hence, The Brunswick County Construction Fairy and his Elves made short work of the construction of our new shed for storage of supplies.  The Pistol Annies did all of the painting, while some of us took on the challenge of refreshing the Ye Olde Gun Club front sign

SPRING 2023 HAS ARRIVED
Shooters abound at a regular Tuesday shoot as the weather was delightful, some people actually wearing shorts. Three ranges were running, National Match Course, Rifle, and Fun Shoot. Many of our new  members joined in the shoot with their mentors for the first time.

THE START OF A NEW THING!
The St James Rifle and Pistol Association launched its first shoot at Ye Olde Gun Club on Wednesday June 14th 2023. What better day than Flag Day!  More than 35 members turned out for this major event where they participated in a review of safety rules and a tour of the facility. It was followed by a shoot using 3 ranges --  rifle, National Match Course, and the plate ranges.
A celebration lunch followed at Bella Cucina's restaurant.

                                                                            SAFETY TRAINING 2023
Two three hour safety orientation sessions were held on February 24th and March 1st of this year. Overall we had 16 participants and 8 range officers in attendance at each session. This mandatory program consisted of guidelines for safely handling hand and long guns along with the safety and first aid rules from the St James Rifle and Pistol Association, Ant Hill range and Roan's Branch range. The sessions were hosted by Rita and Curt Seaton both members of the club.
